During a grand reception at the Ballroom of the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort in St Julian’s, 100 members of staff within Island Hotels Group received awards in recognition of their loyalty and length of service ranging between 5 and 20 years.

Whilst 33 employees received a five year award a total of 58 employees were presented with the ten year award and a further 8 employees received a 15 year award with one receiving a 20 year award.

During the ceremony, Group Managing Director Mr. W. V. Zahra thanked all those present for their commitment and loyalty towards the company. During a short address to those present Mr. Zahra explained that he is very proud of the fact that the Group has always based its principles on the fact that the staff are the most important asset of the company.   He stated that hits principle remains at the core of the company despite the fact that over the past 21 years the group has grown from employing 20 employees to over 1,300 today. Mr. Zahra stressed that the staff of the Group are the main reason behind the Group’s success and thanked everyone present for their dedication and constant efforts towards the delivery of the best possible service to the thousands of international and local clients that use the Group’s services.

Mr Nazzareno Vassallo, Chairman of the Group also addressed the awardees and thanked everyone for their on going dedication to the Group. He also stated that he looked forward to seeing each individual develop with the group during the years ahead.

Employees were treated to an evening reception, together with their partners.  The directors of the group presented the awardees with a commemorative plaque and also a voucher for use within the Island Hotels Group outlets as a gesture of appreciation and recognition of their loyalty and length of service.
